Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar,

The year 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China–ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and serves as a further step in deepening Lancang–Mekong Cooperation. The 2026 China–ASEAN Week will be convened in Chongqing in late November. On this occasion, our Commission will have the pleasure of hosting the 2026 Chongqing International Travel Mart (ASEAN Session) and the Lancang–Mekong Tourism Cities Roundtable, together with a series of local tours of cultural and tourism resources in Chongqing. Thematic exchanges and immersive experiences will be arranged around Chongqing's signature highlights, namely its 8-D mountain-city transport, the night views along the Two Rivers and Four Banks, hot-spring wellness, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) health tourism, and consumption clusters in the core business districts.

It is against this pleasant backdrop that we have the honor to invite your Ministry to kindly coordinate the participation of relevant cities of Myanmar in the Lancang–Mekong Tourism Cities Roundtable, so as to foster fruitful exchanges of experience on cultural and tourism development among our cities. We would warmly welcome cultural and tourism representatives from Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, and would be most grateful if Nay Pyi Taw could serve as the national representative of Myanmar to deliver a keynote address. We venture to suggest that each of the three cities be kindly represented by one senior guest accompanied by one professional staff member.

We would highly appreciate it if your Ministry could kindly confirm the list of participating delegates and return the completed reply form by Friday, 30 October. Our side shall be pleased to make every arrangement for the reception and well-being of the participating delegates. Detailed information is set out in the annexes for your kind reference.
